WHAT IS A COMMUNITY EMPLOYMENT SCHEME?
The Le Cheile Community Employment Scheme is funded by the Department of Social Protection. The aim of the Community Employment Scheme is to help the long term unemployed find their way back to full time employment. CE Participants work 19.5 hours per week and are placed in local community groups, working in various roles including: Retail, Maintenance, Fundraising, Computer Tuition and Support Workers. They are placed in organisations where they gain valuable experience working in the community. While on CE, participants have access to a training budget which helps them upskill and increase their opportunities for gaining full time employment.
